Meet The Team

  • Michael Schwartz, Founder and Principal of VMG Industries, has been a leader in product development, industrial design, and manufacturing efficiency for over 25 years. He is recognized for transforming innovative concepts into market-ready products.

    He began his career as a sales associate at Casing Associates after earning a degree in marketing and management from American University. Within two years, he contributed over $10 million in sales, leading to the company’s acquisition by Danish Crown. Following a merger that formed DCW, the world’s largest independent casing company, Michael was appointed VP of Special Projects. From 2011 to 2023, he developed new product lines and established divisions for artificial casings, heparin (a medical product), and colored casings. These divisions, built from the ground up, generated over $50 million in annual sales.

    Beyond the food industry, Michael holds three patents: one in the food sector and two in the mountain bike industry. Serving as a vital link between business professionals and inventors, he knows how to bridge the crucial gap between concept and commercialization.

    Currently, Michael is the owner and CEO of Master Craft Finishers, an industrial and military painting company. He also leads a mountain bike consulting firm and is finalizing a production project for a major bike brand. His extensive industrial and business experience positions him to guide VMG Industries toward a future of innovation and success.

  • Karl Reed, Co-Founder & Managing Director of VMG Industries, is driving a bold new vision in yacht manufacturing and distribution. With over 70,000 nautical miles of experience, he is a celebrated yachtsman whose fresh perspective and deep expertise are shaping the future of the maritime industry.

    Born in Port-au-Prince, Haiti, and raised near Annapolis, Maryland, Karl’s career began with early sailing exposure and training under the legendary sailor David Immelman in Cape Town, South Africa. While running performance catamarans and crossing oceans on trans-Atlantic voyages, Karl earned his stripes as a seasoned navigator, sharp strategist, and trusted hand to those who demand the very best at sea.

    People mostly know Karl as a sailor but he has a substantial parallel career as an entrepreneur, and activist in both technology and environmental sustainability ventures. With his unique blend of adventure, vision, and expertise, Karl is not just navigating the future of yachting—he’s building it.
