With a degree in Yacht Manufacture and Design from Southampton Solent University, she began her career in Cape Town, working with leading yacht manufacturers before joining Gunboat as an in-house designer. During her decade-long tenure with the company, she worked closely with CEO Peter Johnstone and progressed to the role of Marketing Director, leading client relations, media and public relations, brand development, and event management. She later spent eight years as Manager of Team Phaedo, the record-breaking sailing program behind the Gunboat 66 and the MOD70 trimaran *Phaedo³*. Under her leadership, the team achieved 10 world records and more than 40 international regatta and race victories. She directed every aspect of the campaign, including global logistics, sponsor acquisition and activation, public relations, communications, and the management of an elite high-performance crew. During this period, she also played a key role in launching the groundbreaking Eagle Class 53, a foiling catamaran equipped with a wing sail. For the past 13 years, she has worked alongside renowned sailing photographer Richard Langdon, specialising in photography, post-production, and video editing. Miguel Guimarães
Sales Director
Miguel’s connection to the sea began with his family. His grandfather, a boat builder and sailing enthusiast in Angola, founded the region’s first yacht club and became known for sailing between ports at a time when such voyages were far from common. Surrounded by his stories, photographs, and a wide variety of boats—from dinghies and cruising sailboats to classic Riva-style powerboats—Miguel developed an early passion for life on the water. He began sailing at the age of six and went on to compete in dinghy, Olympic, and offshore racing classes, including European and World Championships. These formative years instilled a deep understanding of performance, strategy, teamwork, and resilience—qualities that continue to influence his professional approach today. Over the years, Miguel has accumulated thousands of miles both inshore and offshore through competitive regattas and yacht deliveries across Europe. This extensive experience has given him a practical perspective on what truly matters to boat owners and sailors: efficiency, reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. In 2006, he transitioned into the commercial side of the yachting industry, beginning a career in sales. From 2012 onwards, he took on international commercial roles focused on market development, client relationships, and gaining a deeper understanding of owners’ needs and expectations. Miguel has worked with several respected brands in the industry, including Dufour Yachts, Nautitech Catamarans within the Fountaine Pajot Group, and NEEL Trimarans. His experience spans international sales, dealer network development, market positioning, and guiding clients through every stage of the yacht selection and build process. This combination of hands-on sailing experience and commercial expertise enables him to bridge the gap between technical performance and customer expectations.

Operations Coordinator
Michael grew up in England with a longstanding pull toward the water and the open sea. That passion eventually led him to earn his Divemaster certification and travel to Madagascar, where he worked as a coral reef and forest guide. In this role, he led marine research dives and trained conservation volunteers in remote and challenging environments. It was there that he first met Karl Reed. His professional background is deliberately diverse, spanning construction, joinery, grounds maintenance, and sailing. He also completed sailing courses in Southampton with aspirations of crossing the Atlantic. Life later took him to Brazil, a country he now proudly calls home. Recognising both his adaptability and broad skill set, Karl brought Michael into VMG Industries. In a company operating across multiple continents, Michael plays a key role in ensuring that all moving parts remain connected and aligned. Today, he works across marketing, operations, logistics, asset design, and communications, supporting a globally distributed team. His ability to quietly and efficiently get things done has become one of his greatest strengths—an invaluable quality when building an organisation from the ground up.

During this time she also launched the groundbreaking Eagle Class 53, a foiling catamaran with a wing sail. For the past 13 years, she has worked alongside renowned sailing photographer Richard Langdon in photography, post-production, and video editing, with 90% of her work serving commercial and editorial clients in the marine industry. Sales Director
Miguel’s connection to the sea started with his family. His grandfather was a boat builder and sailing enthusiast in Angola who founded the region’s first yacht club and was known for sailing between ports when that wasn’t common. Growing up around his stories, photos, and all kinds of boats — from dinghies and cruising sailboats to classic Riva-style powerboats — Miguel developed an early interest in the water that eventually became his career. He started sailing at six and went on to race in dinghy, Olympic, and offshore classes, including European and World Championships. Those years taught him about performance, strategy, teamwork, and resilience, which still shape how he works today. He’s since logged thousands of miles inshore and offshore through regattas and yacht deliveries across Europe. That time on the water gave him a practical view of what matters: efficiency, reliability, simplicity, and ease of use. Miguel moved into the commercial side of yachting in 2006, working in sales. From 2012 he took on international commercial roles, focusing on market development, client relationships, and understanding what owners actually need. He’s worked with several well-known brands in the industry, including Dufour Yachts, Nautitech Catamarans at Fountaine Pajot Group, and NEEL Trimarans. His work has covered international sales, dealer networks, market positioning, and helping clients through the process of choosing and building a yacht.

Operations Coordinator
Michael grew up in England with a longstanding pull toward the water and the open sea. That eventually led him to a Divemaster certification and to Madagascar, where he worked as a coral reef and forest guide, leading marine research dives and training conservation volunteers in remote environments. It was there that he first met Karl Reed. His background is deliberately varied, construction, joinery, grounds maintenance, sailing courses in Southampton with an eye on an Atlantic crossing, before circumstances took him to Brazil, a country he now calls home. Karl brought him into VMG Industries recognising that a company operating across multiple continents needs someone who can hold the pieces together. Michael spans marketing, operations, logistics, asset design, and communications across a team spread around the world. Getting things done quietly and without fuss, which tends to matter more than it sounds when you're building something from the ground up

Founder and Principal
Michael Schwartz, Founder and Principal of VMG Industries, has been a leader in product development, industrial design, and manufacturing efficiency for over 25 years. He is recognized for transforming innovative concepts into market-ready products. He began his career as a sales associate at Casing Associates after earning a degree in marketing and management from American University. Within two years, he contributed over $10 million in sales, leading to the company’s acquisition by Danish Crown. Following a merger that formed DCW, the world’s largest independent casing company, Michael was appointed VP of Special Projects. From 2011 to 2023, he developed new product lines and established divisions for artificial casings, heparin (a medical product), and colored casings. These divisions, built from the ground up, generated over $50 million in annual sales. Beyond the food industry, Michael holds three patents: one in the food sector and two in the mountain bike industry. Serving as a vital link between business professionals and inventors, he knows how to bridge the crucial gap between concept and commercialization. Currently, Michael is the owner and CEO of Master Craft Finishers, an industrial and military painting company. He also leads a mountain bike consulting firm and is finalizing a production project for a major bike brand. His extensive industrial and business experience positions him to guide VMG Industries toward a future of innovation and success.
